Coming from Switzerland, we thought it would be fun to show Manu and Pia a little 'Canadian Wilderness' by taking them on a paddle up the beautiful French River.  Who could imagine that it would rain for five consecutive days? Morning.  Noon.  Night.  Drizzling rain, spitting rain, sleeting rain, intermittent rain, flood watch rain........you name it.  There was so much water in our tent that both Zackary and myself were actually floating on our thermarests.  Almost relaxing really.  But what troopers Manu and Pia were.  What strength they exhibited.  Not normally campers to begin with, and saddled with such horrific weather conditions to boot, one would assume that they would want to pull the plug after the first evening.  Nope.  They toughed it out and endured all that the Ontario Weather Gods (OWG) could throw at them.  Impressive. Not only that, they became very proficient campers over the course of the trip and were promptly elevated to the elite status of 'Junior Camp Masters'.  They were so helpful to Jana and I, in fact,  that we are starting to worry about how we will manage our next camping trip without them.
